Ubuntu Workshop

The ICT Unit, Department of Islamic Studies, yesterday ran a workshop introducing Ubuntu to ICT teachers of Arabic and Religious school nationwide. On hand to conduct the worksop were Cikgu Husny bin Abang Taha and Cikgu Norhalim bin Hj Abd Thani.

Cikgu Norhalim said that the introduction of Ubuntu OS aims to introduce an operating system that is easier to use but still offered the look and feel of a powerful computing environment, without sacrificing the budget. In addition, he said "there is no need to have an antivirus for Ubuntu installed on the system. But in practical life, there are several reasons to have an antivirus installed, for any operating system you have installed on your machine.

The workshop ended with question and answer session and refreshments.
