CO-CURRICULUM activities in religious schools are important in teaching and learning processes, they also function as complements to the mainstream school's formal co-curriculum activities. Realizing the importance of co-curriculum activities, The Department of Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this afternoon, held its NATIONAL 33th Jawi Writing Competition for Religious School
Overall, 27 students and teachers from various schools throughout the country participated in the competition which was broken up into nine categories. Namely, category A for preschool, category B for Primary 1, category C for Primary 2, and category D for Primary 3 and Preparatory I. Meanwhile, category E through H consists of students from Primary 3 through to Form 6. The final one, category was opened to officials and teachers from religious schools.
The events took place at Pusah Dakwah Islamiah Kampong Pulaie at 1.30. p.m. The guest of honour at the ceremony was Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau Hjh Aminah Hj Momin.
The event commenced with the guest of honour witnessing participants performing on the spot jawi writing competition. The spontenaous jawi writing held in the conference hall of Pusat Dakwah Islamiah.Overall, 27 students and teachers from various schools throughout the country participated in the competition which was broken up into nine categories. This then followed by the consolation prized and certificate presentation ceremony that took place in the main hall of Pusat Dakwah Islamiah. The event started with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pengiran Aminuddin bin Pengiran Haji Hussin followed by the speech made by Haji Idris bin Haji Aji, Head of Administration, Islamic Studies Department, as event's chairperson. This was later followed by a speech by the guest of honour
The highlight of this event was the presentation of consolation prized and certificate to the participants and souvenirs for the judges of the jawi writing competition by the guest of honour.
The ceremony ended with the recitation of doa selamat by Pengiran Aminuddin bin Pengiran Haji Hussin. Soon after, the invitees were given a feast.
