2nd MABIMS YOUTH BUS PROJECT ARRIVED IN BRUNEI FROM SARAWAK YESTERDAY AFTERNOON

MABIMS youths comprising members from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore Religious Counscil arrived in Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon to an impressive welcome. A special event to welcome the MABIMS bus project youth delegation took place at Plaza Sutera Biru.

Presenting to welcome the delegation were the Senior Administration Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Pengiran Anuar bin Pengiran Seri Indera Pengiran Haji Ismail, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs Awg Haji Abdul Kahar bin Haji Hussi, Belait Head Religious Officers Awg Haji Mat Zain bin Hj Muntol and officers from the Belait Affairs Office, Islamic Studies Office and The Mosque Affairs Department.

The arrival of the MABIMS youths delegation in the Belait District with the theme 'Strengthening the Youth Self Towards Islam', marks their first destination in Brunei under the project after traveling to Kalimantan, Indonesia and Sarawak, Malaysia. The Indonesia Religious Ministry and Malaysia Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) offered a varied program of activities for a two-week programme on a regional bus project.

Last night at Jamalul Alam mosque, the MABIMS youths participated in the mass Maghrib and Isya prayes. In attendance as the guest of honour was The Assistant Belait District officer, Haji Abdul Hamid bin Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah, officers from Belait Affairs Office, Islamic Studies Office and The Mosque Affair Department.

The ceremony was enlivened with a Tazkirah presented by Mohd Hanafi bin Haji Zaini among the eight Bruneians participating in the youth bus project. Last night programme also witnessed a motivational talk by Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor from the Counselling and Career Guidance Unit at the Ministry's School Department.

The ceremony ended with the presentation of souvenirs from the MABIMS youths delegation to the guess of honour, invited speaker and the Imam of Jamalul Alam mosque
